Real name: Robert Nesta Marley

Biography: The great Jamaican Singer, composer, song writer Bob Marley was born in in the small village of Nine Mile in Saint Ann Parish on 6th February 1945.His father was white Naval officer Norval Sinclair Marley who was married to 18 years old Afro Jamaican Cedella Booker. Though his father was responsible for financial support of his family but he could not give time to his family for busy official schedule and trip ,when Marley was 10 his father died and after that he faced many difficulties in his life for mixed race .

Marley became friend with Bunny Wailer with whom he started playing music. When he was at the age of 14 he didn’t go to school any more for the cause of music ,he was making music that time with Joe Higgs. In 1962, He recorded his first two singles "Judge Not" and "One Cup of Coffee", with local music producer Leslie Kong.In 1963 Marley formed Ska and Rocksteady group with help of Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Junior Braithwaite, Beverley Kelso, and Cherry Smith. They were calling themselves "The Teenagers” which was finally named as "The Wailers In 1966 he married to Rita Anderson and they moved to Marley’s mother residence in US for little period

Marley and his band teamed up with Lee "Scratch" Perry and his studio band, The Upsetters. after a misunderstanding with Dodd. During 1968 to 72 Both Marley and his wife with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer tried to commercializing The Wailers' sound by re cutting old track with Jad Records. “Catch a fire” Wailer’s first first album was released on 1973 and performed well world wide. After a year Burnin' was released which included the songs "Get Up, Stand Up" and "I Shot The Sheriff".

Marley remains the most widely known and respected performer of reggae music, and he was doing everything for the growth of Jamaican music and Rastafari movement.
He was famous for some of greatest hits like "I Shot the Sheriff", "No Woman, No Cry", "Exodus", "Could You Be Loved", "Stir It Up", "Jamming", "Redemption Song", "One Love". He died on May 11 ,1981 and after 3 years on 1984 his compilation album Legend released. which performed very well with sales of more than 20 million copies.
